Parks and Gardens
The Parks and Gardens series is an homage to the people who have created and protect our everyday “natural” land, places with easy access where many pass. I search for places that express open and conditional time and are holding on to respect for life and the land that supports us. I am guided by what many have said about our land – we need to be good stewards and not take too much or give back too little.
The Parks and Gardens series is an ongoing project photographed with my 8 x 10 inch Leonardo Pinhole camera. Its f352 pinhole camera collaborates with time and reveals an essence of what's invisible. This camera slows down my image making and supports a thoughtful experience and awareness of place. I want to capture the awe and nourishment that nature provides and encourage contemplation on the nature/culture interaction.
